WARSAW, Poland – This impressive-looking Ford Ranger has been converted into a fire truck, ready to respond to emergency situations in difficult terrain in Poland.
Prepared by FC Autosystem, the pickup is equipped with an aluminium reconnaissance and operations hardtop body. Access to the rear of the vehicle is provided by hinged flaps, and the body also opens to three sides, while the doors are equipped with adjustable pressure locks.
The body also has been equipped with gaskets that guarantee the tightness of the structure. Molle panels have been installed on the side flaps, which facilitate the installation of many accessories.
Ford Poland’s Mariusz Jasinski explains: “The Ford Ranger on which the body was placed is a double-cab version. Under the hood is a 2.0 EcoBlue engine with 170 horsepower, and drive is transmitted to four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is equipped with light and sound signaling, as well as a signal integrated into the roof overlay, and a radio and winch.
“The Ranger's manoeuvrability and mobility make it an ideal vehicle for rapid response and other emergency situations in difficult terrain. The car is additionally armed with an elevated suspension, as well as all-terrain tyres.”
On the Polish market, the Ford Ranger is offered in three cab versions. The most popular variety is the double-cab version offering a spacious interior and comfortable second-row seats. In addition, Polish customer can also choose a single cab - with the longest cargo box - and an extended cab with room for additional passengers.
Ranger isn’t the only Ford being adapted for emergency service use in Poland. This Transit has been equipped with an aluminium container body, a high-pressure water and foam unit and a telescopic lighting mast with LED light sources, and like the Ranger has an electric winch built into the front bumper.
Based on a double-cab Transit, it has a payload of 800 kilograms and is powered by a 2.0 EcoBlue engine that delivers 170 horsepower to all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The Transit also comes equipped with a raised suspension and 16-inch all-terrain tyres.
